HOW DO I KNOW IF A PERSON INJURY LAW FIRM IS RIGHT FOR ME?

Butler–personal-injury-

Here is how you can know whether a personal injury firm is right for you. Here are five things you want to know about a law firm before hiring them and how to choose the right one.

  1. How many cases does the frontline employee have who will be assigned to your case?

Recognize this one fact which is not emphasized, nor even mentioned, in TV advertisements lawyers put out: Your case is very likely going to be handled by a claims handler from the start. In fact, an attorney may never see or handle any part of your case. You certainly do not see that fact stated on any TV attorney ads.  If you are thinking of going with one of the TV advertiser attorneys you would rightfully want to know how many “files” that claims handler has. We can say in recent interviews to add on an additional employee at our firm  that several of the applicants still working at TV advertiser-attorney law firms were handling 200 injury cases each. One applicant conceded she was getting 10 new cases every day.  That is 50 new cases every week!  How could a person remember the names of the client, plus client family involved, witnesses, client doctors, and law enforcement involved, etc. (Multiplied by 50 new cases every week!)

  2. Is my case going to be handled like an assembly line?

Is my case that is important to me going to be assigned to a case number, or will I be known by my name.  Large law firms use case management software to place them into an assembly-line type progression.  If you have a law firm but never get to speak with the attorney it is likely on this assembly line model or the law firm has too many cases to devote much time to any particular one of them. Interviews with those applicants mentioned above produced evidence that the claims handlers simply place names and accident data of clients into a formulaic “Demand” letter and then send it to the insurer in hope for a good outcome. There is not much study done to determine what characteristics are different on one case from another. It is: take the information, place it in the form, send to the insurance company hopefully for a good response. Assembly line.

  3. Does the law firm I am looking at ever file suit?

If there was a second part to the above sentence it would be: “Or does the law firm just take whatever the insurance company throws the law firm’s way after a “demand letter” is sent to the insurer”.  Insurance companies are data collectors and data analysts. It is very easy for the insurers to see which law firms never file suit, and never take a case to trial.  If you went to a surgeon who never performs surgery, then what is the benefit? The plain facts are, the insurance companies know which law firms are filing suit and which ones just take whatever offer the insurance company throws out. Meaning, the insurance companies know which law firms will fight for the clients, and which ones just say they will on TV.

  4. What is the REAL reputation of the law firm?

What is meant here is, what are the actual reviews for that law firm you are looking at? At the end of a case a law firm can send a link to a client to have the client write a review. When the client writes a terrible review originating through that link, the law firm can “kill” the bad reviews, and post only the good reviews.  There is no such thing as a law firm handling hundreds of cases which has all 100% 5-Star reviews.  Yet on some law firm websites that is exactly what you will find: hundreds of only 5-Star reviews. But if you type in that same law firm name along with third-party review services you may be surprised to find not only much lower review scores, but also comments describing why the reviews are low for that law firm. In short, do not just check the law firm’s own reviews on their website—if they are 100% all 5-star reviews.

  5. Is the law firm a specialist in the type of case you have?

Yes of course if you have a dogbite case then hire a dogbite attorney. But if you have a specialized type of case like a boating accident, cruise ship injury, or jet ski accident then hire a real specialist in that law. Would you hire a doctor that kind of knows heart issues or would you hire a cardiologist? Do you want the podiatrist guessing about a heart issue or do you want a cardiologist to deal with heart issues for your family? This reasoning applies when choosing a law firm to handle your specific type of case. Yes, there are injury law firms who advertise 10 or 20 types of injury case that they say they can handle like a pro, but why would you not trust a specialist who is dedicated to the type of case you actually have?

How does www.888BoatLaw.com, (Frank D. Butler, PA) the 25-year law firm stack up to these questions?

  1. How many cases does the frontline employee have who will be assigned to your case?

Be assured that every case is being worked on by our attorneys.
At www.888BoatLaw.com we don’t assign numbers to our clients. We know our clients by their names. We do not seek to be the biggest law firm, we strive to be the most effective law firm for our client.

  2. Is my case going to be handled like an assembly line?

No, your case will be handled individually. We do not have cut and paste assembly line demand letters. Each case is handled based upon the particular circumstances and facts in that case.

  3. Does the law firm I am looking at ever file suit?

Ask the insurers. www.888BoatLaw.com files suit regularly when the case dictates that. However, we only file suit for a client after conference with the client and approval of the client.  Our endeavor in every case is to resolve the matter without filing suit. Sometimes the insurer or defendant has to be convinced.

  4. What is the REAL reputation of the law firm?

Check our reviews. There is no catch and delete of reviews. No games. Just a rock solid reputation by responses from the clients. No deletions.

  5. Is the law firm a specialist in the type of case you have?

Yes. www.888BoatLaw.com has been helping injured boaters, injured cruise ship passengers, JetSki accident victims, and injured crewmen for 25 years. Our rate of recovery for our clients is very high. (See our reviews at Frank D. Butler, PA.) We practice throughout all of Florida, and this comes with this type of practice. We are specialists in this area of the law, maritime law. Do not trust your case to a general practitioner.  Remember, if you needed a heart surgeon you would go to a cardiologist, not just a general practitioner. You can have confidence in our 25 years of handling these types of cases and working to recover for our deserving clients.
